Updates

  • Giving Tuesday is one moment—but the impact these partners create lasts all year long. We’re honored to support their work and grateful for everything they do to strengthen communities. We’re also grateful for team members like Mollie McMillan, whose passion for sharing and supporting the Bonnie Plants Foundation—and these organizations—shines in every season.

  • Small seedlings. Big impact. These trays may look simple, but each one holds 100–400 young plants—every plug no bigger than a thumb. Through a donation from the Bonnie Plants Foundation, these seedlings were provided to the Millennial Farms Foundation in partnership with the Food For Everyone Foundation. Over the next 12 months, these plugs grew—surviving cold snaps and volunteer care—and ultimately became more than 2,000 pounds of fresh vegetables donated to Phoenix-area families, food pantries, and community organizations. Along the way, the program also delivered hands-on education in gardening, nutrition, and food systems to community members of all ages. Hope Community Gardens shared their experience with us, writing: “Everyone who sees the plants comments on how perfectly beautiful they look. Thank you for being so generous in providing such a nice variety for our fall garden.” A special thank you to our Chino Valley station for supplying the seedlings and supporting our mission to grow a future where everyone has access to fresh food and deeper connections with the earth. This Giving Tuesday, we’re reflecting on the power of small starts—and the lasting change they can create. 💚

We were blessed to have the opportunity to roll out the 🔸orange and blue🔹 carpet for our friend and colleague Bill Whittaker of Priva last weekend. It’s always encouraging to see shared vision come to fruition, we are extremely excited for what is to come in the very near future 🌱 It never hurts having two of the industry’s largest greenhouse growers in your backyard either! Thank you to Bo Hancock of Bonnie Plants, LLC for being such a great partner to our mission. Our vision at FoodU is supported daily by y’all’s efforts. Another shoutout out to Beverly Ogburn and Zach Ryan at Young's Plant Farm, Inc. for spending the time walking and talking greenhouses with us. It’s always fun to see their space as poinsettias turn! Thank y’all for being so supportive and engaged. Nothing we do would be possible without the constant support from our friends in industry. Committed to returning the favor by preparing and empowering the next generation of professionals! Auburn University College of Agriculture at Auburn University Auburn University Horticulture

  • We are thrilled to announce the results of our annual October fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness month! Thanks to the hard work of everyone involved, we successfully reached our goal, raising a total of $8,500! We have partnered with East Alabama Medical Center Foundation (EAMC Foundation) to use these funds to cover the cost of 50 mammograms for uninsured women in the Auburn/Opelika area. 🩷🎗️

  • 🌱🌟 Bonnie Plants celebrates National Volunteer Month! 🌟🌱 As April unfolds, so does the spirit of giving back across the nation. 🤝 National Volunteer Month is a time to celebrate the invaluable contributions of volunteers and highlight the profound impact they make in communities nationwide. For Bonnie Plants associates, it's an opportunity to embody our company's values, make a meaningful impact, and inspire others to join in creating positive change. Our corporate staff worked diligently at O-Grows building handicap accessible raised beds. O-Grows promotes gardening and related programming to address the issues of food security and localized food systems, while providing fresh food for the Opelika, Alabama community. 🍅 Special thanks to our friends at Scotts Miracle Gro for providing soil for the project. Let's close out the month by volunteering, connecting, and making a difference that resonates far and wide. #NationalVolunteerMonth #BonniePlants #CommunityImpact #GardeningForGood #Volunteerism
