  • International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day honors the strength it takes to grieve, remember, and continue forward. If this time of year feels heavy, reach out in whatever way feels right for you. Healing begins in community. Please share this post to remind others they're not alone, or take a quiet moment to honor the life you're remembering today, and be gentle with yourself. Grief is heavy, but you don't have to carry it alone. If you or someone you love is struggling, call or text 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline for free, confidential support anytime. 💜

  • The Youth Resiliency Campus will close critical gaps in adolescent behavioral health care across southwest Missouri. It will expand access, reduce strain on emergency departments, and keep care close to home for families who need it most. “This space will serve as a sanctuary for youths facing a range of challenges, from acute mental health issues to substance use. The YRC is a transformative project designed to provide youths not only emergency 24/7 behavioral health care and expanded residential care services but also numerous opportunities to address needs before they escalate to crisis levels. To offer all these services on one campus is truly remarkable.” — Clay Goddard, Southwest Regional President. This work will open the door to earlier support, safer transitions, and more hopeful outcomes for young people and their families. • Access saves lives. 💜 We are proud to partner with Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services to expand access to Narcan (naloxone) in our community. Narcan is a lifesaving medication that can quickly stop an opioid overdose. You can now find a 24/7 Narcan distribution box at Burrell’s Phoenix Clinic in Columbia. The box at our Behavioral Health Crisis Center at Stephens Lake in Columbia will be installed soon. This collaboration is part of our ongoing commitment to support individuals and families affected by substance use, alongside our partners across the community. 📸 Pictured: Burrell’s Assistant Director of Recovery Justin Meal with our incredible Peer Support Specialists at the Phoenix Clinic. This project is funded by contract #5H79TI086392-03 between Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

  • On Veterans' Day, we honor those who have served, those who are currently serving, and the families who stand beside them. Your commitment and sacrifice deserve deep respect, today and every day. Service can take many forms, and so can the challenges that come after. Many carry experiences others may never see, and support should reflect that reality. Burrell has long been here for military-connected individuals and families. This year, we expanded that commitment with specialized Military Services; culturally competent, trauma-informed care led by those who have served. Our goal is straightforward: create a place where service members, veterans, and their families can access care, community, support, and hope close to home. If you or someone you care about needs support, we're here. 📞 417-761-5800 📧 swadultcprconnections@burrellcenter.com We see you. We thank you. We're honored to walk with you.

  • Caregiver burnout doesn’t show up in one dramatic moment. It builds over time. If you’re focused on caring for someone else, it’s easy to miss the signs in yourself. Here are a few red flags to watch for: 😴 You’re tired no matter how much you sleep 😣 You feel anxious, irritable, or numb 📅 You cancel your own appointments and plans 🧠 You feel like you’re losing focus or patience 💬 You’ve stopped talking about your own needs or feelings Sound familiar? You’re not alone, and you don’t have to wait until it gets worse. During National Family Caregiver's month, or anytime you need support, take a breath. Check in with a mental health care provider. You deserve care too.
