Strengthening climate resilience, boosting trade, and unlocking green growth were at the heart of my meeting with the California–Africa Climate and Economic Partnership (CACEP) delegation. We discussed how Nigeria’s youthful population, dynamic economy, and ambitious Energy Transition Plan align with California’s leadership in clean energy, smart agriculture, digital innovation, and cultural exchange. I emphasised Nigeria’s unique strengths: our large and youthful population, our commitment to strategic autonomy in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s foreign policy, and our readiness to deliver homegrown solutions while engaging global partners like the IMF. We explored the establishment of a Nigeria–California Centre for Climate Innovation, linking our ministries, innovators, and universities with California’s world-class expertise to scale projects like mangrove restoration, renewable energy, and regenerative agriculture. #NigeriaUSRelations
