I’m proud to announce we’ve raised $2M in “pre-token” funding and launched Guild in public beta. We believe the total addressable market isn’t starving artists...it’s human creativity itself. A VC once asked me: “So what’s the TAM of starving music artists?” I had to give it to him it made me laugh, but it’s the wrong question. Here’s what happens in a world of 15 second "for you" videos and AI: ☑️ Cost of creation drops to near zero. ☑️ Supply of content explodes. ☑️ Distribution clogs with slop. But what remains uniquely human is a desire for authenticity and collaboration. Give people more time together, and they’ll write more songs, make more films, tell more stories, build more worlds. An issue remains… The system works exactly as centralized platforms do - extracting value from creators and developers, growing to ultimately compete against both in the interest of maximizing shareholder value. You can't totally blame something functioning as it is designed to. No new “tool” is going to fix that. Only a new model will - one built on “tokenized collectivism” - humans funding, supporting, and distributing each other’s creations directly - around aligned interests. All while working with AI to elevate their work, not replace it. Creatives should be able to: ☑️ Own their intellectual property and its derivatives alongside collaborators and supporters ☑️ Own their business workflows, performance data, audiences and customers ☑️ Own the platforms and models that result from their content and contributions That is what Guild has been building for music and visual creations. Tag someone in the industry who cares, and this will take a village. It's a BIG platform and NOT perfect, but you will certainly see our investment and aspirations in the scope of work done.
