Modern helmet performance starts at the unit cell. With Carbon DLS™, designers can precisely control lattice density, strut geometry, and cell size to create multi-zone helmet liners that balance lightweighting, energy management, airflow, and comfort within a single, integrated pad. This level of performance tuning isn’t achievable with traditional manufacturing. It’s powered by Carbon. Introducing EPU Pro 50 and EPU Pro 90. EPU Pro 50 delivers exceptional softness and flexibility with faster print speeds, making it ideal for intricate and delicate geometries where feel and comfort matter. EPU Pro 90 delivers higher stiffness and print strength with faster print speeds, enabling lightweight lattices, complex designs, and efficient production of larger, more demanding parts. Together, they expand the EPU Pro platform with faster printing, simpler workflows, and a wider range of elastomer performance so better products can be made at any scale. Helmet protection doesn’t start on the outside. It starts with how energy is managed on the inside. In helmet projects at Prototek, one thing became clear: padding is no longer just about softness, it’s about controlled energy response. Working with Carbon® EPU materials, we’ve seen how different internal zones demand different behaviors: 🔹EPU 43 for durable comfort where the helmet is worn the longest 🔹EPU 45 where impact energy must be damped, not returned 🔹EPU 46 where rebound and tunable softness improve fit and perception. Using Carbon® DLS™, these structures can be designed, not approximated, allowing protection, ergonomics, and customization to coexist. The real question is no longer “Is the padding soft enough?” It’s “Is the padding behaving correctly where it matters?” 💭 How do you currently balance comfort, safety, and customization in protective gear design? #AdditiveManufacturing #3DPrinting
