On this International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we want to highlight the vital work being done to build more inclusive and understanding workplaces. Just a few weeks ago, Nathan Fitch and Brian Hack hosted an incredible event at Cartera – A Rakuten Company, shedding light on Rakuten’s employee resource group dedicated to destigmatizing disability for employees, caregivers, and allies. Their commitment to ensuring all employees can bring their whole selves to work is truly inspiring. Four interactive simulation stations offered powerful, brief insights into diverse experiences, building empathy and understanding. Participants navigated challenges like wheelchair accessibility, depression's invisible burden, and communication barriers in virtual meetings.
