It’s International Infection Control Week, and we’re celebrating our Infection Prevention & Employee Health Coordinator, Sara!   Sara Lee, RN, CIC, has recently earned her Certified Infection Control credential from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc (CBIC). This accomplishment has showcased her dedication to patient safety, maintaining high standards for infection prevention at Cass Regional.    Thank you, Sara, for creating a healthier environment for everyone who walks through our doors, keeping our patients, staff and community safe. 

This past Saturday, more than 20 individuals took time out of their busy schedules to join us for an all-day Strategic Planning Session focused on the future of Cass Regional. We are incredibly grateful for the dedication of our providers, executives, Foundation Board members, Board of Trustees, and members of our management team who came together to share ideas, collaborate, and help shape the vision for our hospital’s next chapter. Their commitment to advancing healthcare for our patients and community truly embodies the heart of Cass Regional — people working together to make a lasting impact.

Yesterday, we partnered with Life Flight Eagle to host a class on difficult airway management. The class was open to Cass Regional paramedics, respiratory therapists, and community EMS partners. The class included education about advanced airway management for critically ill patients and hands-on experience, during which participants were able to get a realistic training using pig lungs. Thank you to all who attended, including local EMS and Fire Departments.

We're proud to share that Cass Regional’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation Department has received national accreditation from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). Congratulations to Tonya, Abbey, Christine and Sarah on this amazing accomplishment! Thank you for your work during this process, and for your continued dedication to quality patient care. Today, our education department hosted a Pediatric Symposium training for first responsders and medical professionals. With attendees from a variety of organizations, from police and fire to Cass Regional staff, this event highlighted important aspects of pediatric care, from airway management to mandated reporting. We’re thankful for our educators and all the attendees!

Our employees deserved a sweet treat to thank them for their hard work! Adrian, Missouri business Byrd's Pecan Delights set up an ice cream and toppings bar at the hospital today for our staff to enjoy 🍨
