Earlier this month, Steve McClain represented Charter Impact at the charter authorization and oversight forum co-hosted by SSDA, CSDC, CCAP, and CCSA in Bakersfield. The forum brought together superintendents, authorizers, and experts like CSDC’s Eric Premack to discuss legislative changes, data trends shaping authorizing today, and how flex-based schools can build strong, accountable partnerships with their authorizers. Events like this play an important role in strengthening the charter landscape. They give leaders space to learn from one another and stay aligned on quality, transparency, and student outcomes. Thank you to the organizers and everyone who participated. We appreciate the continued work happening across California to support schools, authorizers, and the students they serve.

We love seeing our partner schools recognized for the incredible work they do. Huge congratulations to Maria Trinidad Humildad of Latino College Preparatory Academy for being named California Charter Schools Association's 2026 Hart Vision Regional Teacher of the Year for the Bay Area. Her “Imaginary Latin American Tour” and culturally rich classroom experiences are shaping confident, connected learners. She will be honored at this year’s CCSA Conference and Teacher Summit in Long Beach. We also want to celebrate Wonderful College Prep Academy, named CCSA’s 2026 Hart Vision Equity and Innovation School of the Year. Under Superintendent Jorge Aguilar, the school continues to raise the bar for TK–12 education. With a community-centered approach and results like half of the 2025 graduating class earning an associate degree, WCPA is opening doors every day for students in Delano, Lost Hills, and beyond. Two powerful stories. One shared mission to build brighter futures. Congratulations to both teams.

With so many schools taking next week off for break, we wanted to wish you an early Happy Thanksgiving. We appreciate the work you put in day in and day out to educate this rising generation. You are the mentors and guides who change the world of those who will change the world. Enjoy your break and the time to rest and recharge.

Last week was a special night in Sacramento. Our Senior Director of Client Finance, Marie Arce, had the chance to join the RIVER CHARTER SCHOOLS team at the Kings game where students from River's @Delta Elementary Charter School took to the court to sing the national anthem, and they absolutely crushed it! Moments like this are a great reminder of why we do this work. When our teams and our partner schools come together, we get to support opportunities that lift students up and celebrate what makes each school community unique. Jillayne Antoon

Yes Dana Vignale, M.Ed! This is what impact looks like — shared purpose, shared work, stronger schools.
The power of partnership! When authorizers, mission-minded business partners, and school leaders come together, schools are stronger, more sustainable and locked in on success! I always love the conversations and community of the Florida Association of Charter School Authorizers! Thank you for a meaningful day! #FACSA #charterimpact

Great night in Coeur d’Alene with an awesome group of Idaho school leaders. Greg Burroughs, Jonathan Gillen, MBA, CPA, and Adam Kaeli spent the evening catching up, swapping stories, and talking about the great work happening across the state. Idaho’s education community has a really special energy right now. Schools are growing, people are collaborating, and there’s a shared commitment to doing what’s best for kids. Nights like this are a good reminder of why we love being part of this work. Thank you Idaho School Boards Association for a great Annual Convention! If you're here and we haven't connected yet, come by our booth!

While part of our team is in Arizona this week, we’re also up north in beautiful Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for the ISBA Annual Convention! Our Idaho Regional Director, Jonathan Gillen, will be presenting three sessions throughout the conference, including one on “Changes in Public Education Funding.” If you’d like a copy of Jonathan’s presentation materials or want to dive deeper into how these funding shifts could impact your school, comment below and we’ll make sure you get them.
