CIS and the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, KS (UG) are joining forces to take on some of the region’s biggest infrastructure challenges — from combined sewer overflows and flooding to improving water quality — through innovative #communitybased infrastructure projects. This Community-Based Partnership (CBP) is about more than stormwater management — it’s about investing in people. By emphasizing local workforce development, the CBP is expanding opportunities for local contractors and skilled workers to build, maintain, and benefit from these vital projects. Together, we are working to create cleaner waterways, stronger neighborhoods, and lasting economic impact across Wyandotte County. 🌱 Over the past few weeks, our team at Naturally Urban Environmental , Inc (N.U.E. Inc) had the opportunity to collaborate with CIS, Cook County Government, and the Village of Franklin Park on the Grand Avenue Corridor Green Streets Project. As part of this effort, we visited local businesses and homes to share information about the project, highlight upcoming improvements, and engage directly with residents. It was inspiring to see so many community members eager to learn about the environmental and infrastructure upgrades coming to their neighborhood. The Open House on October 29th at the Franklin Park Police Department was a great success — showcasing new street designs, parking enhancements, and green infrastructure supported by Cook County’s $14 million Climate Resiliency initiative. I’m proud to have supported this initiative alongside our CEO Victoria Young and the Naturally Urban team — helping strengthen community connections and advance Cook County’s vision for a more sustainable, resilient future. 🌿 Naturally Urban Environmental , Inc (N.U.E.
