Last week, Rick Walk, Lacey City Manager, participated in a panel discussion on housing development at the 17th Annual South Sound Real Estate Forum. As many of you know, building a new house is expensive due to market challenges and other factors. Although the City doesn’t build houses directly, we’ve worked hard over the last few years to help improve housing affordability and contribute to a healthier housing market. The City is always looking for ways to incentivize affordable housing for the Lacey community. By diversifying housing options, providing pre-approved Accessory Dwelling Unit plans, and providing for greater density flexibility, we can help bridge the gap and make housing more affordable and accessible for everyone.   Special thanks to Amy Evans Harding for moderating the panel discussion.
