Southfield Parks & Recreation is hosting Park Adventures, a weekly walk throughout the various parks in Southfield, on select Thursdays beginning at 9 a.m. in the parking lot. Put on your comfy shoes, grab a water bottle, and don't forget to dress for the weather. There is no need to register in advance. The next walk will take place on September 4 at Carpenter Lake Nature Preserve, 27225 W. Ten Mile Rd.

Gleaners Community Food Bank is hosting a Mobile Food Distribution event on September 4 from 2-4 p.m. at the Oakland County Health Department–Southfield, 27725 Greenfield Road. Guests at Community Mobile distributions may pick up food for up to four households per vehicle. Each household will receive up to two meal kits, depending on household size.
