  • The City's Natural Resources Division has initiated its first extensive tree planting project in North Port, beginning at the North Port Aquatic Center, where almost 100 trees have been planted. The primary objective of this project is to provide much-needed shade around the Aquatic Center while enhancing the overall aesthetics of the area. Most of the trees being planted are palm varieties to complement the park’s existing theme, along with additional species that add vibrant color to the landscape. This project will also be extended to the nearby playground and basketball court, where substantial shade tree plantings will help reduce ambient temperatures during the hot summer months.
