This week, we continued a long-standing partnership with the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) to complete our annual Electric Trauma Training program for lineworkers. Approximately 80 employees participated in the training and mock rescue exercise, along with CSFD firefighters and Flight For Life Colorado personnel. The two-day training includes a rotation through different trauma scenario stations, including: hurtman rescue, emergency medical service notifications, initial injury assessments, CPR, tourniquet applications and wound packing. #TraumaTraining #RescueExercise #CPR #Firefighters #Training #Colorado #ColoradoSprings

Last week, our Catamount Wildland Fire Team took their monthly training to new heights with a visit to the Colorado Springs Air Tanker Base at the municipal airport. We got an up-close look at the DC-10, the largest air tanker currently flying in the U.S., and learned how aerial firefighting operations support wildland fire response across southern Colorado and beyond. This hands-on experience gave our team valuable insight into how we can better coordinate with aircraft during fire incidents—and strengthened our connection with local partners who play a critical role in wildfire suppression. Big thanks to the Air Tanker Base crew for the tour and knowledge-sharing. We’re proud to keep building strong relationships that help protect our community.

Earlier this month, our CEO Travas Deal proudly presented a CEO Award to April, Jake and Nicole. This team worked together to author and pass a new state law, which allows Colorado Springs Utilities to keep unclaimed utility deposits. These funds will now directly benefit Project COPE, our utility assistance program that helps families and individuals facing personal crises. This is a perfect example of our team's dedication to supporting our community and finding innovative ways to serve our customers. With the Governor's signature, their hard work is now part of state law, ensuring this critical support for years to come.

Today is National Call Before You Dig Day—so before you break ground, make sure to contact 811! Whether you’re planting a tree or starting a major construction project, make sure your first step is to contact 811. Our trained locators work hard to mark underground utility lines so you can dig safely and confidently. Hitting a buried line can lead to widespread outages, expensive repairs and serious injuries. Don’t take the risk—call 811 before you dig! #NationalCallBeforeYouDigDay #811 #ColoradoSprings #ColoradoSpringUtilities
