On August 15th, 2025, we inaugurated our Vision on Wheels program at Gajapati Stadium, in partnership with CCD Paralakhemundi and funded by SCOR SE. The program was formally inaugurated by Shri Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce, Transport, Steel & Mines, Government of Odisha, in the presence of other esteemed dignitaries. Over the next 9 months, our mobile eye clinic van will deliver: - Free vision screenings & eye check-ups - On-the-spot corrective eyewear - Referrals for advanced care & surgeries - Eye care supplies - Awareness & education sessions Covering 90 villages and 90 schools across Gajapati and Rayagada in Odisha, this program will serve 36,000+ people, ensuring that poor vision or preventable blindness no longer limits opportunities for rural and tribal communities. The Desai Foundation has been redefining what it means to make a meaningful community impact. First established as a family foundation in 1997 by Samir and Nilima Desai, the programs have now diversified. Under the helm of their daughter Megha Desai, the US and India based organisation runs over 30 different programs in 8 states across India. Now, through a new collaboration with Myriad Australia, Australians have the opportunity to be part of this mission.
