About us

CHANGING YOUTH LIFE TRAJECTORIES: Domus helps young people in Stamford and beyond overcome obstacles that jeopardize a bright and stable future. Through a constellation of individualized support programs, Domus works closely with community partners to help disconnected and disengaged youth forge their own paths to self-sufficiency. Whether graduating from high school, acquiring real-world job skills, or securing full-time employment, our programming empowers youth to rise above adversity and thrive as productive members of our shared communities.

  • Our Middle School Family Advocate, Lily Villanueva, secured tickets for a group of students from Rippowam Middle School to attend the Ballet Hispánico performance at the Ridgefield Playhouse. This enriching cultural experience enabled students to appreciate the elegance of dance, recognize the excellence of Latinx artistry, and discover the impact of storytelling through performance. 🙂 #DomusKids #LoveLivesHere #exposure

  • Kindness isn’t just an act—it’s a ripple that changes lives. At Domus, we see every kind word and gesture as a step toward helping youth feel valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. Let’s remind ourselves that compassion builds stronger communities and brighter futures. Together, we can make kindness a habit that lasts all year. 💙

  • 🌟 Domus at the CYSA Changemaker Summit! 🌟 We are incredibly proud of Mishel Jimenez, a student in the Domus Vikings Program, who co-presented alongside Ms. Carmen Williams on “Seen, Heard, and Valued: Youth Perspectives on Mental Health and Belonging.” Their presentation showcased the strength of the Domus Relational Model and the importance of amplifying youth perspectives in mental health and education. The Family Advocacy Team was also in attendance to support the presenters while gaining insightful new information: Bianca Shinn-Desras, director of Family Advocacy (middle school), co-presented with Vanity Vazquez, LPC, on “Crisis, Courage, and Culture: Understanding Immigrant Youth Mental Health.” We’re grateful to the Connecticut Youth Services Association (CYSA) for hosting such an impactful conference and to our youth and staff for continuing to lead with purpose, empathy, and courage. #DomusKids #LoveLivesHere #CYSA #ChangemakerSummit #YouthVoice #MentalHealth #Belonging #Education #SocialImpact #FamilyAdvocacy #CommunityCare

  • Today, on Veterans Day, we take a moment to honor the courage, service, and sacrifice of the men and women who have served our country. Their commitment to protecting our freedoms reminds us of the power of service, resilience, and community — values we strive to instill in the young people we support every day at Domus. To all veterans — including those in our Stamford community and among our Domus families — we thank you for your strength and example. Your leadership continues to inspire the next generation to serve, lead, and build a better future.

This November we pause to honor and celebrate the rich history, cultures, and enduring contributions of Native and Indigenous peoples. Here in Stamford, we acknowledge that the land on which we live and work is the territory of the Mohican, Munsee Lenape, Schaghticoke and Wappinger Peoples who have stewarded this region throughout the generations. We thank them for their strength and resilience in protecting this land. 💛 As we reflect on their deep connection to the land, we’re reminded of the importance of respect, gratitude, and stewardship, values that continue to guide our work with young people and our community. #DomusKids #LoveLivesHere
