Our battery energy storage systems (BESS) help to make it possible to build larger EV charging stations in areas that may have limited utility capacity. By storing energy from the electrical grid during low usage periods, our BESS helps to enable EV charging in areas where the grid alone may not fully support a stand-alone station. Fast Company has recognized the EVs for Equity program as a 2025 World Changing Ideas honoree within the Social Equity and Accessibility category. Santa Monica—known for its captivating beaches, lively pier, and now, our newest station with 20 Hyper-Fast electric vehicle (EV) chargers. It’s been over a year since Electrify America opened the doors to our first-ever indoor EV charging station at 928 Harrison Street in San Francisco, and what a journey it’s been!
