If you’ve ever been to an event and needed to breastfeed, change a diaper, or find a place to calm a loved one, this is for you: Erlanger and Finley Stadium & First Horizon Pavilion have partnered to establish a Calming Corner, Mother’s Room, and refreshed First Aid room that aims to reconnect families to celebrate Chattanooga’s most exciting moments. These rooms will be available starting December 4th as the BlueCross Bowl kicks off in Finley Stadium. ✨The Calming Corner is an expertly designed and clinically informed sensory room that will help children and adults with sensory needs during difficult times. 👶The Mother’s Room includes comfortable chairs for breastfeeding, a state-of-the-art changing table with UV light designed to kill bacteria, and a TV so that moms don’t miss a second of the action. 🏥Last but not least, the revamped First Aid Room will provide more comfort while providing top notch care for any first aid needs. Erlanger is committed to providing compassionate care where people ARE in the community. That’s where health happens, and it’s where we need to be. 💪

In 2018, Erlanger partnered with The Howard School in Chattanooga's Southside to create Erlanger Institute of Healthcare and Innovation, which allows high school students to explore healthcare professions, receive training and internships at Erlanger, and industry-recognized certifications. This month, EIHI welcomed a cohort of 34 students, who, upon graduation, will be ready to enter the workforce as CMAs, EKG technicians, or Sterile Processing Technicians, and/or pursue further education in healthcare fields. Micaela (left) was identified as a Rising Star in the EKG program, and Aniya is graduating this spring and will continue her education in the medical field at Albany State. “Erlanger’s commitment to care reaches beyond hospital walls," said EIHI program coordinator Yvonne Jones. "This program empowers and uplifts Howard students through education and mentorship, ensuring a healthier community for generations to come.”

Palliative care helps people live as well as possible for as long as possible — no matter their diagnosis or stage of illness. It's a compassionate layer of support that focuses on comfort, symptom relief, emotional wellbeing and helping families feel more confident in care and less alone.
