You've heard of quiet luxury and clean beauty... but what about “clean luxury”? That's the tagline of Everlane’s new campaign, which aims to “reframe the conversation” around sustainability within the fashion industry. I spoke to the brand’s new CEO Alfred Chang and senior director of sustainability & sourcing Katina Boutis about what the term actually means, and why they hope it will help spark conversation in the same way that Everlane’s “radical transparency” promise did when it launched back in 2010. But while clean beauty has become a vague and somewhat empty buzzword, Everlane is confident it’s doing the work required to back up its new slogan.
