Leading a unified effort for a hunger-free New York State.
About us
Established in 2004, Feeding New York State, then named Food Bank Association of New York State, was developed to provide advocacy and fundraising support to the NYS regional food banks. Rebranded in 2019 as Feeding New York State, we support the ten regional food banks across the state. We provide programs, services and connections for: Farmers & food processors: Through the Nourish New York initiative and Statewide Sourcing Program, farmers and food processors can help supply NY food banks and receive fair compensation for their efforts. Feeding New York State has staff dedicated to helping you take full advantage of these programs. Hunters: In partnership with the Venison Coalition, we help to connect deer hunters to registered meat processors to make donating venison easy and efficient. The venison from donated deer is processed and distributed to food pantries across the state. Helping with food resources: FNYS sources wholesome food items for our member food banks to use in their communities, we work with state and national vendors & donors to secure food and funds and we are a resource for individuals and families looking for food assistance.

We recently offered a combo load of beautiful New York State produce - 10 pallets of potatoes, 5 pallets of cucumbers, 5 pallets of yellow squash, and 1 pallet of zucchini - and our friends at feedingwestchester said YES! Huge thanks to their team for helping us get this produce to the people who need it most. As Kim from Feeding Westchester shared: “Thank you so much for your continued partnership and for sharing the bounty of New York State produce with us! We truly couldn’t pick a better partner!” Together, we’re getting fresh, local produce where it’s needed most. #FeedingNYS #FarmToFoodBank #NYProduce #StrongerTogether #FoodBankPartners

Today we say a heartfelt farewell to Dan Egan, whose leadership and dedication have left a lasting mark on our mission. Thanks to Dan’s vision and the strong foundation he built, we’re well-positioned to continue our important work without missing a beat. We also want to send a big thank you to Kathleen Stress, who will step in as Interim Executive Director while our board conducts a national search for the next ED. Thank you to Dan for leaving our organization stronger than ever, and to Kathleen for stepping in to lead us forward. #NewChapter, #Teamwork, #FeedingNewYork

Last week, Feeding New York State and Island Harvest presented FNYS's Hunger Champion Award to Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace in Long Island. Since launching their donation program just over a year ago, they’ve donated more than 250,000 pounds of food. Though they couldn’t join us at our Annual Summit in June, we made sure to honor their incredible support in the fight against hunger. Thank you for being a true partner in this work! #HungerChampion #FeedingNYS #CommunitySupport
