Big applause to Shondeen Long for wrapping up her internship at Flatwater Group with an impressive final presentation. 👏   Her journey has been inspiring and we can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in the future! 

Flatwater Group team members recently volunteered at Whirling Thunder Wellness Program's Wilderness Walk/Run.   It was a great opportunity to be a part of this annual event promoting wellness in the community during the 159th Winnebago Homecoming Celebration.

Meet Shondeen Long! Shaúndíín or Shondeen (Shawn-deen) is part Hocak and Dine (Navajo). Her legal name means morning sunlight (morning blessings with sunlight). She is part of the bear clan and her Hocak name is Nąącgepįįwįnga (Good heart woman). She also has a Diné name that is Asdzaan bahazonii (Friendly/Happy Woman). She is on the pre-law route and is majoring in Political Science with minors in Philosophy and Native American Studies at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.   This summer, Shondeen interned with Flatwater Group where she supported federal contracting projects and gained hands-on experience with procurement regulations, contract execution, and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). The internship deepened her understanding of how Native-owned businesses engage in federal contracting and sparked a strong interest in pursuing a career in this field.

We had a great time at the Coalition for Common Sense in Government Procurement’s Spring Training Conference.   This two-day event focused on government wide and healthcare procurement challenges, diving into current developments in the federal procurement.   #CPGSpring2025

Flatwater Group is excited to be attending NeoCon and Fulton Market Design Days this week! We’re inspired by the creativity, sustainability, and leadership shaping the future of design. 🛋️

Flatwater Professional Services had the privilege of furnishing new furniture for the Little Priest Tribal College Louis LaRose Memorial Science Building. In collaboration with the Board of Trustees and our design team, we were able to develop a space with durable and flexible furniture pieces in mind.    Along with new staff offices, classroom tables and chairs, we were able to provide social pieces to fill the common area to ensure the space would bring students together and foster a sense of community. This project was a team effort from start to finish and we are truly honored to be a part of the continued growth of the Winnebago community.  

Take a look inside WarHorse Gaming Omaha! We are excited to have contributed to this project with the interior furnishings, fixtures, and equipment. It is great to see it all come together! 🎉

I was drawn to the company’s mission of improving the lives of the Winnebago Tribe through meaningful jobs, education, and growth opportunities. That purpose made me excited to be part of something bigger than myself.   🔵 How do you plan to contribute to the team’s success? By providing accurate data, meeting deadlines, asking questions, being open to feedback, and finding efficiencies. I’m committed to sharing knowledge and continuing to grow alongside the company.   🔵 What advice would you give to someone new in the industry? Be honest and professional. Set realistic expectations, build strong relationships, define personal goals, and stay committed to achieving them.   🔵 What inspires you to succeed every day? The opportunity to learn, grow, and support both my teammates and the company’s success keeps me motivated.   🔵 How do you spend your spare time? I enjoy being outdoors, especially working in my vegetable garden, and spending quality time with friends and family.
