Since graduating from UIC last May, I have been working as a Medical Assistant at Premier Dermatology. I primarily support the cosmetic dermatology team under the invaluable guidance of Dr. Matthew Kelleher and Carly Kelleher, PA-C. I am incredibly lucky to work alongside such a skilled and compassionate team every day who have taught me so much. Over the past several months, I have had the chance to be involved in patient care in so many meaningful ways — from scribing and supporting clinical workflows to removing skin tags and sutures, numbing patients for procedures, and assisting during skin cancer excisions. These hands-on experiences have strengthened my clinical knowledge and skills and deepened my appreciation for the trust patients place in their care teams. I am incredibly grateful for the mentorship and community I have found at Forefront Dermatology, and I know these experiences will stay with me as I prepare to begin medical school this fall!
