  • Happy Friday Fresno Unified family. As we close out the week, Superintendent Her’s Friday Message focuses on safety, connection, and opportunities for our students. This week, we want to acknowledge the incident at Wilson Elementary. Thanks to the swift actions of our staff and Fresno Police, all students and staff remained safe, and the situation was resolved quickly. While it was later confirmed the weapon was not real, this event is an important reminder of how critical it is that families keep their contact and emergency information updated in ATLAS. Doing so ensures you’re properly connected to ParentSquare, where schools and the district share urgent updates and important information. We’re also excited to share that our Zum Parent App is now available for families with children riding General Education bus routes. The app provides live bus tracking and a more convenient experience for families. While registration isn’t required to ride the bus, you must register if you’d like to use the app’s features. Families can also take advantage of our After School Program, which offers academic support, enrichment activities, and physical fitness opportunities. It’s a great way for students to get homework help, build new skills, and have fun after the school day ends. Finally, a reminder that every Tuesday during a full school week is an early release day for all students. Be sure to check the full list of early release dates so your family can plan ahead. You can read the full Friday Message with active links and flyers on ParentSquare. Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our schools safe, supportive, and focused on student success. #FresnoUnifiedFridayMessage
