About us

Lora is a new consumer app reimagining how people understand themselves and connect with the world – with astrology as the cultural spark. It’s part self-discovery, part entertainment, part social connection. With thoughtful design and AI-driven personalization, Lora makes guidance and insights feel more relevant, more conversational, and more useful than ever before. Our mission is to spark curiosity, inspire reflection, and help people grow in ways that feel both personal and shared. Founded by the former Chief Product Officer of Hinge and backed by AlleyCorp, we're on a mission to redifine how you connect to yourself and ultimately how you connect to those closest in your lives.

Most early-stage companies approach pre-launch with this formula: ➡ landing page ➡ waitlist ➡ CTA ➡ one (1) slogan ...and then hope people care. The problem is: you learn nothing, you don’t build brand resonance, and you give your audience very few reasons to explore, share, or stay curious over the next 6+ months until launch. This is why over the past few weeks, we've been building a new interactive landing page for Lora, rooted in Astrocartography (a framework within astrology that maps your birth chart onto the world, showing the places on Earth where different parts of your personality, career, relationships, and growth are energetically supported 🪐) !!! This early distribution experiment inspired by a larger belief I hold about pre-launch strategy: Create surface area, not slogans. I’ve been thinking about landing pages less like static "about us" pages and more like a literal multiverse - parallel worlds that test different angles, identities, and value props, all pointing back to the same gravitational center: our future product. Every page is: ⭐️ deeply personalized ⭐️ highly shareable ⭐️ visually distinct ⭐️ built to spark curiosity For this project, I built the entire experience in Figma Make, and it allowed me to ship fast and embed easter eggs, including storytelling and links to our community discords. And it worked. From this single page alone and over the past 2 days, we not only brought in 3,000+ early signups, but have had hundreds of new community members joining our Discord, actively asking “What is Lora and when can I try it?” Not because we told them to care… but because we made them curious. We're still very early, but seeing thousands of people raise their hand and say “I want in” is a reminder that you should never underestimate the power of curiosity, play, and exploration in early building. If you want to try what we've built (and discover where you're meant to be), linking below in the comments 💫 And if you want to join our community while we build the next generation of spiritually-driven tech we’d love to have you <3

Instead of spending 6 months building a full fledged app for Lora, we spent less than a week building a test for our distribution using nothing but Figma Make. Today we are putting our first experiment into the world (link in comments). We built this entirely directly in Figma Make. No custom code. No full app. Just a marketing led, Tinder-style landing page that lets you generate an astrocartography map and swipe through a card stack to ask very human questions like: - Where will I fall in love? - Where will my career take off? - Where will I feel most like myself? We are treating this less like a “launch” and more like a live laboratory. This is intentional. Our strategy right now is: - Use simple, focused landing pages to test value props, audiences, and core feature ideas before we invest in heavy builds - Build out a clear brand and UGC creator pipeline so we can watch what real people actually say, stitch, critique, and ask for - Treat every comment and DM as product research to refine the product we are busy designing - Engage our earliest adopters as key collaborators across beta testing, an ambassador program, and community building For those who do not know me, I have spent my career leading consumer product at places like Spotify, Netflix, Hinge, and now as founder of Lora. I have seen again and again how the approach to launching consumer products continues to evolve (rapidly!). I have shipped things that reshaped how people date and connect (like Voice Prompts at Hinge) and things that did not quite land (Family Profiles at Netflix, rip). All of it taught me the same lesson: It is no longer enough to have a great product and beautiful design. You need distribution, narrative, and community from day one. That is the game now. You build the story and the surface area for conversation first, then you let the community show you where the real product should go. That is what we are putting into practice here. Invite conversation. Let the community show us what to double down on, what to kill, and what to build next. 🎯 Our goal: spark conversation, build community, and use that community to inform the product as we go. Try it out and tell me what you think. 💫

✨ Want to help create the next wave of spirituality and self-growth content? We just launched our UGC Creator Program and are looking for a few talented college students, recent-post grads, or those who are chronically online who love making short-form video content (or are content curious!) and want to help shape the voice of an early-stage brand. If you live on TikTok or Reels, know how to tell a story on camera, and want to experiment with content that blends astrology, spirituality, self-growth and community, we’d love to meet you. This is a chance to work closely with our founding team, create platform-ready videos, test ideas quickly, and help define how Lora shows up on social. If you’re interested, drop a comment or DM me “UGC” and I’ll send the details. You can also apply directly at the link in comments. #hiring #ugc #creator #startupjobs #contentcreators #socialmediajobs
