Big momentum in Manteno. Last week, our VP of Manufacturing & GM, Mark Kreusel, shared strong progress from Gotion Illinois - our 153-acre, $2B battery campus. In just one year, we’ve gone from groundbreaking to five production lines making EV batteries, energy storage systems, and mobile chargers. Our team is growing: 300 employees today → 450 by year-end → 1,400 in 2026 62% from Kankakee County 80% within 40 miles $22–$44/hour local wages The impact is clear: Local taxing districts saw the largest property tax rate drop on record, with schools, the village, and fire district gaining millions in new revenue. Safety first: We produce LFP batteries, the safest chemistry in the industry, and partner closely with local fire officials to meet all 2024 codes. And we’re investing locally: $450,000 contributed this year for first responder equipment and training, a Rivian patrol vehicle, and support for schools and community events. Earlier this month, Gotion Illinois was honored to host Fire Service and EMT leaders from Will and Kankakee Counties for an in-depth tour of our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, led by the Manteno Fire Protection District. The visit provided an opportunity for regional fire service professionals to gain a firsthand understanding of Gotion Illinois’ next-generation fire detection and encapsulation systems, learn about the inherent safety advantages of our lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery chemistry, and review the latest fire protection standards shaping advanced battery manufacturing in the United States. At our Manteno Manufacturing Hub, we have fully modernized a legacy facility, transforming an outdated fire system into a comprehensive, code-compliant safety network built specifically for battery production. This upgrade underscores Gotion’s deep commitment to safety, innovation, and operational excellence. As we help drive America’s clean energy transition, safety remains at the core of everything we do.
