As AI-scale deployment accelerates, power procurement is no longer a standard utility transaction, it’s a technical and operational partnership. For data centers, reliability expectations, load profiles, redundancy strategies, and response time commitments aren’t just contract language, they’re mission-critical requirements that determine uptime and business continuity. Flexible contract structures, supported by aligned technical and commercial frameworks, are now essential to ensure power performs as designed from day one and for decades after. On-Site Energy as a Service for Data Centers
About us
Founded by energy veterans and backed by an established energy private equity firm, GPC Infrastructure delivers long-term gas-powered energy solutions for data centers. As a behind the meter independent power producer, GPC owns and operates natural gas generation that can scale from 100 MW to 1 GW, managing all aspects of the gas supply chain. GPC enters into long-term power purchase agreements with data centers or directly with tenants, providing "energy as a service" as a reliable alternative to the grid and an "easy button" for our customers. These agreements include options for carbon neutrality, such as carbon sequestration or blending biogas, along with the ability to add capacity and/or switch to a more efficient generation configuration over time, balancing speed to market with cost and sustainability. GPC collaborates with data center operators to evaluate landbank sites for on-site power or provides access to our portfolio of greenfield sites located in ERCOT and PJM for co-located data center and power development. GPC empowers data centers to control their energy future thru reliable on-site generation, overcoming the uncertainty of utility power, and scaling in response to the capacity demands of their customers.

Behind today’s fast growing data center footprint is one critical requirement: power that’s reliable, scalable and available on day one. Energy as a Service (EaaS) is helping operators meet that need by shifting power procurement from a capital expense to a long-term, fully managed solution. Instead of building and maintaining their own on-site generation assets, data centers can now partner with providers who take on that responsibility end-to-end. At GPC Infrastructure, our natural gas-powered EaaS model delivers behind-the-meter capacity engineered for mission-critical workloads, without the time, risk, or operational lift of self-management. To truly secure power in today's data center landscape, you must look past the transaction and establish a long-term strategic partnership. In a recent POWER magazine feature, our CEO Jim Summers discussed how the most effective power agreements rely on shared priorities, including reliability, cost stability, and predictable delivery. “My view has always been that the most important factor when structuring a contract is to create good alignment between the parties involved.” he said. “Focusing on win-win solutions changes the approach and tone of the negotiations and positions both organizations to act collaboratively when challenges inevitably arise in the years—and in some cases decades—that lie ahead.” As AI workloads push power requirements past traditional grid timelines, partnership-driven contract models are essential, not optional. What’s powering the world’s data? According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), natural gas continues to lead the way, supplying more than 40% of the electricity used by U.S. data centers. While renewables and nuclear energy are growing, natural gas remains the most reliable and readily scalable source to meet rising data center demand. At GPC Infrastructure, we deliver fully managed, onsite power solutions fueled by natural gas to help operators get energized faster. From initial design through long-term operation, our model is built for speed, scale, and resilience with close collaboration at every step.
