Last week, our Charlotte office was packed for the second installment of "What’s the Deal? Development Edition," our thought leadership series and insider look at Charlotte’s CRE scene. Our Life and Work Places team convened a full house of brokers and developers for candid conversations on some of the most talked-about projects shaping Charlotte including the CLT Destination District, Eastland Yards, the Iron District, and South Charlotte’s Providence Square and Providence & Fairview. Thank you to our moderator Elizabeth McMillan (JLL ) and panelists Stuart Hair (Charlotte Douglas International Airport), Daniel Malino (Levine Properties), Tommy Mann (Trammell Crow Company) and Bobby Speir (Crosland Southeast ) for making the second event in this series such a success! #CRE #Development #Charlotte

The Trager MicroForest at Founders Square marks a transformative step in revitalizing downtown #Louisville, KY for healthier and happier people. This initiative is not just an aesthetic upgrade, but a strategic effort to reshape perceptions of urban life, enhance public health, lessen stress, increase biodiversity and combat environmental challenges like the Urban Heat Island effect. Our team at Gresham Smith worked with the Christina Lee Brown Envirome Institute at the UofL Urban Design Studio and the broader community to explore how an intensely planted urban green space can nurture community wellbeing and deepen residents’ connection to their city. In stark contrast to the current concrete-heavy landscape that dominates much of downtown, the Trager MicroForest seeks to create a vibrant oasis that invites people back into the heart of Louisville. It represents a pivotal moment, an opportunity to reignite urban engagement and redefine what a healthy city looks like. 📸: Tim Arvin
