Exciting announcement from Norfolk Airport Authority!
¡Hola, Puerto Rico! NEW nonstop service from ORF to San Juan, PR on JetBlue begins March 27, 2026. Service will run year-round, 4x weekly ✈️ ─────────── While JetBlue’s presence at Norfolk International is still new, the results make one thing clear: ORF is firmly on the map and performing well. JetBlue launched service at ORF in late April 2025 with nonstop flights to Boston. This week, we’ll celebrate the inaugural flight of a second destination, Fort Lauderdale, and we’re pleased to announce a third city, San Juan, will be added next March. For a partnership in its first year, this level of growth speaks volumes about both the strength of our market and the confidence JetBlue has placed in ORF. We’re excited for what’s ahead and grateful for the continued momentum.

Last Thursday, the Henderson Alliance proudly hosted the Virginian Economic Development Partnership VEDP International Trade and Hampton Roads Alliance (HRA). 🇺🇸🤝🇦🇺 This visit was part of VEDP’s two-week mission to Australia, showcasing Virginia’s leadership in maritime security and defence. After starting at the Indo Pacific International Maritime Exposition in Sydney and continuing through Adelaide, their journey concluded in Henderson. 🌏⚓ For Henderson Alliance members whose expertise aligned with the needs of these US businesses, it was a fantastic chance to engage in B2B conversations and begin building relationships that will strengthen industry ties as we progress towards AUKUS. 💪🔧 On Friday Night, the VEDP and Hampton Roads teams joined us at the Annual Henderson Alliance WA Defence Industry Gala Dinner.🎉 A highlight of the evening (in addition to the dancing) was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Henderson Alliance Chairperson Rohan Green and Hampton Roads Alliance President & CEO Douglas L. Smith. This agreement establishes a collaborative framework between the Henderson Alliance and Hampton Roads Alliance with the objective to strengthen industrial workforce, and supply chains in support of the AUKUS partnership. Key objectives include: ✅ Aligning industrial capabilities for submarine construction, sustainment, and advanced maritime technologies. ✅ Linking supply chains across both regions to enable participation in AUKUS-related programs. ✅ Collaborating on workforce development and training in critical trades such as welding, systems integration, and nuclear-adjacent skills. ✅ Encouraging innovation partnerships between universities, research centres, and private industry. ✅ Facilitating trade missions and information exchange to build mutual understanding of standards and procurement pathways. Thank you to VEDP and Hampton Roads Alliance for visiting Whadjuk Noongar Boodja, being fantastic participants, and attending our Gala Dinner. Travel safely back to the US - we look forward to continuing this partnership! ✈️

Teamwork makes the dream work! Thanks Consociate Media for helping us put on a fantastic event and capturing the Alliance team in action!
Behind every big event is a team making magic happen. Coordinating, testing, walking (so many steps) and pulling together countless moving parts. When we photograph events like the Hampton Roads Alliance’s Playbook Summit, our focus is usually on the stage, the speakers, the energy of 750 attendees. But this time, we turned the lens around for just a bit to the people who made it all happen. The ones troubleshooting lights, checking mics, reviewing run-of-show notes and making sure everything shines before showtime. And yes, there was a mascot thrown in there, too! The story of big movement in communities isn’t just about what happens on stage. It’s about the passion, teamwork and dedication happening behind it.
