NSLAC welcomes Sara Ramirez as the Immigrant Legal Support Program (ILSP) Regional Center Workshop Manager. Launched in September 2024, ILSP is a statewide initiative funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) to expand access to legal services for immigrant communities. Through free legal screenings, workshops, and application assistance, the program helps ensure that immigrant families have the support they need. Sarah’s passion for helping others was inspired by their parents’ resilience in building a life in a new country, navigating both cultural and linguistic challenges. With a B.S. in Management and a minor in Spanish from the University of Illinois Chicago, graduating Magna Cum Laude with College Honors, Sarah brings both expertise and heart to their role. NSLAC is seeking a full-time Pro Bono Practice Assistant to join our Pro Bono Services Team and support our mission of providing accessible, quality, and free legal services in the areas of domestic violence, housing, and immigration. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish, highly organized, and eager to contribute to a collaborative nonprofit environment. This role includes assisting with case management, supporting volunteer attorneys, preparing legal clinics, interpreting and translating, creating outreach materials, and representing NSLAC in the community.
