As we embrace the spirit of giving this season, our team members at Islamorada Resort Collection spent two meaningful days giving back to our local and global community during this year’s Davidson Day of Service. We partnered with First Baptist Church of Key Largo to prepare and serve meals to members of our community especially those facing food insecurity. We also assembled gift boxes for Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization that delivers shoebox gifts filled with hygiene items, school supplies, toys, and messages of hope to children in crisis impacted regions. It was inspiring to contribute even in a small way to their mission of bringing comfort, dignity, and joy to communities facing hardship. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because amid the deadlines, busyness, and everyday momentum that the world of hospitality brings, it invites us to pause, breathe and reflect on what truly matters most. At the top of my gratitude list is having the ability to work with a team that leads with heart and shows dedication in everything that they do. It was so heartwarming to see everyone come together across our Islamorada Resort Collection to celebrate with an early Thanksgiving treat yesterday. A heartfelt thank you to our Steering team Scott Dawson, Sarah Will, Hicham El Ibrik CFBE Ian Millington and Jeff Esposito for taking time out to connect with the team, share in the moment and personally distribute gifts which made the day feel even more special. Thank you as well to our culinary team led by our Executive Chef Philip Tur, Executive Sous Chef Mark Gayle, Sous Chef Twain Holness and Banquet chef Robert Dezange Octela for the most delicious lunch and dinner menu, our banquets team led by our Director of Banquets William D Predestin, and my incredible People and Culture team Keona Bucknor Lídice Villarreal and Alexandra Monroy,for creating a celebration that was so thoughtful and full of heart. Coming together for our team in Jamaica 🇯🇲 Our team members across the Collection rallied together to support our colleagues’ families in Jamaica following the recent devastating hurricane. Thanks to the generosity of our team members, we filled a U-Haul with donations that will be shipped to Jamaica. Inside are four donated generators, food, 100 hygiene kits, baby diapers, clothing for men, women, and children, bottled water, furniture (including a bedroom set, gently used mattress and box spring, a sofa donated by Amara Cay, and a dining room set), along with cleaning supplies and tarps. In times of hardship, it’s inspiring to see our team come together with compassion and purpose. We’re proud to support our extended family in Jamaica and bring a bit of relief and hope to those impacted.
