Excited to share that I’m serving as a professional advisor to the ITE at UC Irvine student chapter for the 2025-2026 school year! 🎓 It was great to see familiar faces from last year and meet new students joining the group. I had the opportunity at one of their recent meetings to give a short presentation introducing the concepts of Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) for CEQA and Level of Service (LOS) for General Plan compliance — and to talk through how these two frameworks differ in real-world applications. I also shared a few examples from recent projects I’ve worked on, and the students asked some really thoughtful, insightful questions. Looking forward to working with this talented group throughout the year and supporting them as they grow into the next generation of transportation professionals! 🚦

  • We recently had a great time at the home of ITE Cal Poly Pomona as they hosted the 2025 edition of the ITE SoCal Traffic Bowl! 14 of our members (plus some of our very wonderful alumni) came to cheer for our team! Fighting through the first heat, we succeeded and got to the final round, where we ultimately placed 3rd. It’s always a great time being able to see everyone come together for this event filled with knowledge and passion!

  • We had an amazing time at Long Beach! 😊 Our board members (Kai, Denny, Ben, Tyler) made their way down to Long Beach to join the 2025 ITE Western District Annual Meeting. As it's always a fun time, they had the pleasure of reconnecting and meeting with fellow members around the district. Alongside student-focused events that strengthened the bond between our fellow student chapters, there were also technical sessions on topics and bike tours that you wouldn’t see in the classroom. We thoroughly enjoyed attending and volunteering at each session they had! Alongside capping off one of the nights at the Queen Mary 🛳️, we made sure to make many memories with everyone who attended 🤩 🤩 In other news… we will be hosting the Student Leadership Summit in January, 23-25, 2026! We handed out small stickers to advertise the event, and we were proud to see so many attendees wearing it. If you’re interested to learn more about SLS, check link in bio! 🔗 Overall, we well enjoyed our stay in Long Beach, and you can expect us in Bellevue next year! 🏔️

I am incredibly excited to share that I will be the 2025-2026 President of the Institute of Transportation Engineers Student Chapter at UC Irvine (ITE at UC Irvine) This past year as Vice President has been amazing, and I want to thank our 2024-2025 board: Ryan Nguyen, EIT (President), Denny Quach (Secretary), and Dorian Castillo Schott (Treasurer). It has been a pleasure to work with these individuals to improve our club and make it a more welcoming community for transportation enthusiasts. I will especially miss Ryan Nguyen, EIT, as he graduates this June and continues his master's at Cal Poly Pomona. I would also like to congratulate the incoming 2025-2026 board for our chapter: Denny Quach, External Vice President Ethan Y., Internal Vice President & Treasurer Sarah Byun, Secretary Rishi Reddy, Co-Project Manager Benjamin Chang, Co-Project Manager Benjamin Lukas White, SLS Chair Tyler Leong, Events Co-Chair William Ngo, Events Co-Chair Shotaro Mizuno Norville, Communications Chair Anh Doan My Truong, Social Media Chair We have tripled the size of our board in anticipation of hosting the 2026 ITE Western District Student Leadership Summit, as well as the many activities and events we are planning for our student members. Thank you to all the students and professionals who have continued to support our chapter. We hope you are as excited as we are for next year!

  • On the night of May 29th, our student members and professionals joined us for the ASCE x ITE Banquet! It was a night of fun and laughter as we recapped our year and the incredible work that both ASCE and ITE have been able to produce. This was also the chance to send out our graduating class, and ring to in the new board! As we have enjoyed the leadership of Ryan Nguyen, EIT, he will be leaving to pursue his Masters at Cal Poly Pomona. Some board members from ITE Cal Poly Pomona were there to take him away! As we end our school year, we would love to mention our sponsors and supporters for this year. Our wonderful Platinum sponsor Iteris, Inc., and our Bronze sponsors : Cathy Leong, Neelam Dorman, Ganddini Group, Inc., and WSP in the U.S.! Also, a special shoutout to Charlene So for being a valuable mentor to our board! We couldn't have done it without you all!

On April 18th, 2025... We went on a tour at John Wayne Airport (SNA) and got to learn about the logistics it takes to manage an airport. Big thanks to the staff at SNA for taking time out of their day to show us around and teaching us various topics. Topics that were covered included noise reduction, environmental stewardship, community collaboration, and fire prevention and management. We had a great time seeing and meeting members of USC ITE, ITE at UC Irvine, and UCRITE. We would like to extend a big thanks to Brandon Sanchez, EIT of USC ITE for extending an invitation to our chapter. We look forward to collaborating with everyone for future tours/activities.

  • On the night of May 1st, 2025, we placed 2nd at our annual SoCal ITE / OCTEC Student Presentation Night! We were delighted to showcase this year's project: "Warrant Analysis Using Artificial Intelligence” presented by Ryan Nguyen, EIT, Benjamin Chang, and Rishi Reddy. While we were the first chapter to present, that meant we had the chance to thoroughly enjoy all the other student projects! A big thank you to all the professionals for coming by to see the future generation of transportation professionals! A special shoutout to Professor Eric C. Shen, P.E., PTP, F.ITE, for the photos once more!
