"We're already seeing that people have low trust in AI code...and this [combined with inefficiencies, hallucinations, and complexities] makes writing sophisticated code with AI that much more difficult." Sonar Engineering Leader, Erin (Hall) Kouri, shared this insight recently - and expanded into how Sonar's latest integration with Jellyfish helps provide better visibility into code quality, coverage & vulnerability metrics. • While many companies are exploring autonomous coding agents, the lack of sustained traction suggests that some teams are facing challenges integrating them into sustainable workflows. Some early adopters have, however, found success adapting to an AI-centered development lifecycle. For these leaders, we wanted to understand what differentiates their workflows, what patterns have emerged, and how others can learn from their success. Among teams who saw sustained use of agents, there was a repetitive theme: autonomous agents were thought of as “junior engineers” – able to be pointed to a direct solution and asked to implement it, but not able to tackle more complex work. These teams were able to effectively integrate agents when they were assigned well-defined, well-scoped tasks. We saw this in practice when we examined one company with a significantly high agent adoption rate. Over the last three months, this company included agents in 12.96% of their PRs – that’s nearly nine times more than the average company experimenting with agentic workflows. When they use agents, we measure a decrease in PR complexity (measured by files changed) and PR size (measured by the diff of lines changed). Shipping velocity is up. AI is everywhere. And the pressure on engineering leaders keeps rising – because faster delivery doesn’t automatically mean better software. That’s why we teamed up with Sonar. In this on-demand webinar, Steffen Eriksen (Product Manager at Jellyfish) + Erin (Hall) Kouri (Engineering Director at Sonar) show how to connect delivery speed with the quality signals that protect long-term stability: code quality, coverage, and vulnerability metrics. If you’re trying to answer questions like: - Are we trading speed for hidden risk? - Which teams/services need attention before incidents happen? - How do I make code quality visible at the org level? …this one’s for you. • Development leaders are struggling to show the impact of AI in software development. No single tool, such as Amazon Q Developer, can give the full picture. In this Amazon Web Services (AWS) re:Invent breakout session, hear from Genesys about their journey to measure the impact of AI and how the integration of Amazon Q Developer metrics into the Jellyfish platform gave them the visibility they needed. You'll learn about: - ways that AI impacts software development - how the ingestion of Q Developer metrics into Jellyfish can shed light on those impacts over time - how a customer took that information and was able to tell the story of the impact of AI on their development process. Have AI coding tools helped your engineering team move faster on the same things -- or are you using them for repetitive tasks so your team can think bigger and more innovatively? Jellyfish Engineering Manager, Marilyn C. Cole, unpacks this question and more in last month's deep dive with DORA lead, Nathen Harvey, and Jellyfish Advisor Adam Ferrari and Sales Engineer Milan Thakker.
