Officers courageously subdued an armed suspect threatening the public in a supermarket while navigating limited visibility caused by the fire retardant the suspect was spraying at them. Through a coordinated response, they took the suspect into custody without major injury. Officers Li, Keaney, Lin, Andrakin, Plascencia, Byrd, and Sergeant Gatpandan were honored at the Medal of Valor award ceremony for their bravery in this incident. Officers assigned to Tenderloin Station disarmed an armed robbery suspect after a brief foot pursuit and struggle in which they discovered a pistol hidden in the suspect's waistband. Working together, they prevented serious injuries to themselves and others. Officers Loo, Nguyen, Quinlan, Prasadi, Bonilla, and Tumurchudur were honored at the Medal of Valor award ceremony for their courage in this incident. With a fire blazing through an apartment building, a trio of SFPD officers jumped into action to evacuate residents despite heavy smoke, intense flames, and the lack of protective equipment. Our latest operation resulted in 13 dealer arrests, 29 warrant arrests, and 18 user arrests.
