  • Meet Marion Jones, who is running the 2026 Boston Marathon® presented by Bank of America as part of Team BILH in honor of Lahey—the place that helped her reclaim her life. In 2020, Marion arrived at Lahey with sudden, frightening symptoms that progressed to partial paralysis—ultimately leading to her diagnosis of neuromyelitis optica (NMO), a rare autoimmune disease. The specialists at Lahey guided her through uncertainty, provided lifesaving treatment, and gave her hope at a moment when she feared she might never walk again. Since then, Marion has fought back mile by mile, completing multiple marathons and working toward all six Abbott World Marathon Majors. The Boston Marathon will be her final star. Running for Lahey is her way of raising awareness for NMO, honoring the care that set her on a new path, and uplifting those who are battling through their own seemingly impossible moments. • In honor of Pink and Pearl Day, observed on November 7, Lahey colleagues hosted an educational tabling event in the East Lobby to raise awareness for breast cancer (pink) and lung cancer (pearl) - two of the most commonly diagnosed cancers. We are honored that Governor Maura Healey issued a commendation to Lahey for our work in cancer awareness and education. Thank you to everyone who helped make this important recognition a reality and for supporting our commitment to cancer prevention, early detection, and high-quality care.
