LBFE is committed to alleviating isolation and loneliness among older adults in Chicago.

About us

Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly (LBFE) is a national network of non-profit volunteer-based organizations committed to relieving isolation and loneliness among the elderly. LBFE Chicago serves nearly 1,000 adults over 70 years of age who are aging without the support of family or close friends. We offer to people of goodwill the opportunity to join older adults in friendship and celebration of life. Our motto, flowers before bread, expresses our philosophy that people need the special pleasures in life in addition to the basic necessities. Love, dignity and beauty in life are as essential as physical needs.
