Today, we’re proud to announce our $20 million investment over the decade (2020 – 2030) in sustainable rice sourcing through our new Raising Rice Right platform.  Rice is a daily staple for billions and a source of income for millions of farmers. Yet, climate change is putting unprecedented pressure on rice-growing regions around the world. Our investment aims to empower farmers with climate-smart agriculture practices, secure livelihoods, and protect the future of rice.  Through our new Raising Rice Right platform, we are:  💧 Scaling proven climate-smart agriculture practices like Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD), which can reduce water use by up to 30% and greenhouse gas emissions by over 40%.  🧑🌾 Providing training, tools, and technology to farming communities, including smallholder farmers in Asia. Our Sustainable Aromatic Rice Initiative (SARI) in Thailand has already trained over 1,400 farmers – two-thirds women – leading to increased yields for all farmers.   🌍 Building resilience by ensuring farmers in our supply chain at risk of poverty are supported, helping secure long-term economic stability.  🌾 Driving industry collaboration as a founding member of the Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP).
