  • Profitable Nordic growth continues 🚀 Matas Group’s Win the Nordics strategy continues to deliver results. In Q2 2025/26, revenue grew 5% (4.4% currency neutral), and EBITDA grew faster than revenue – reaching an EBITDA margin of 12.7% adjusted for currency effects. Customer transactions increased again, and our loyalty base keeps growing. We expanded our in-house brand portfolio with the launch of Nilens Jord, Denmark’s #1 make-up brand, now available in KICKS across Sweden, Norway and Finland – following last year’s successful launch of Matas Striber. KICKS also introduced Charlotte Tilbury online in all Nordic markets. Read more by clicking the link in the comment section.

  • ANOTHER VICTORY FOR MATAS GROUP On Tuesday, Danish Industry and FSR - danske revisorer hosted the annual presentation of the Annual Report Award. Matas Group was among the nominees, with the judging panel highlighting the following rationale: “The company distinguishes itself through its description of the acquisition of Swedish KICKS, including its ability to provide readers with a clear understanding of the business in just ten minutes, thanks to well-crafted narratives on business models, strategy, risks, and value creation.” Matas Group was nominated alongside some of Denmark’s most prominent enterprises, including Carlsberg Group, FLSmidth, A.P. Moller - Maersk, and MT Højgaard Holding. It was, therefore, a proud moment for CFO Per Johannesen Madsen, who accepted the award on behalf of the company: “This award is a testament to what a dedicated team effort can achieve. We should all take pride in this recognition, which underscores our ability to deliver a report that seamlessly integrates financial reporting, strategic communication, and investor relations narratives into a cohesive whole. Moreover, it reflects our commitment to social responsibility—towards our dedicated employees and, equally, the many customers we serve across the Nordic region.”

MATAS A/S GROUP CEO RESIGNS TO PURSUE INTERNATIONAL OPPORTUNITY The Group CEO of Matas A/S, Gregers Wedell-Wedellsborg, has informed the Board of Directors that he wishes to resign to pursue an executive position in a non-competing business located outside the Nordics. Gregers Wedell-Wedellsborg will remain fully committed as Group CEO until a successor has been appointed. The Board of Directors of Matas A/S has a well-prepared succession contingency plan that has been activated and the search for a successor starts immediately. Gregers Wedell-Wedellsborg has been the CEO of Matas A/S since November 2017 and has led the Company successfully through digital transformation followed by assortment expansion, the acquisition of KICKS in 2023, which made Matas the Nordic market leader and the launch of the Win the Nordics strategy in 2024. Malou Aamund, Chair of Matas A/S: “The Board would like to thank Gregers Wedell-Wedellsborg for his outstanding service and strong performance in leading Matas since 2017. Gregers has steadily led the Company through a complete transformation, during challenging times, to becoming the Nordic market leader. The Company is in a strong position, with an experienced team in place leading the continued execution of the strategy set to Win the Nordics.” Two years into the integration of KICKS and with the completion of two fully automated warehouses, the Company is now entering the next phase of the Win the Nordics strategy focusing on commercial and operational excellence. Gregers Wedell-Wedellsborg, Group CEO of Matas A/S: “After almost eight years as CEO of Matas, I have been offered a once in a lifetime opportunity that my family and I have decided to pursue. Leaving Matas and KICKS is not easy, but the timing is right. The Company is in great shape, has a clear strategy, and an all-star team. It has been an honour to lead Matas from being a Danish retail chain to becoming the leading Nordic omni-channel retailer in Beauty and Wellbeing. Matas Group has great people and a bright future”. The Board of Directors will communicate as soon a successor has been appointed.

MATAS GROUP CONTINUES PROFITABLE GROWTH📈 Today we announced our quarterly results. Matas Group delivered a 6% increase in overall revenue, driven by more than 300,000 additional customer visits across Matas stores in Denmark and KICKS stores in Sweden, Norway, and Finland. The performance marks continued progress towards our strategic ambition, Win the Nordics, which targets revenue of DKK 10 billion by the financial year 2027/28. “The first quarter marked continued profitable growth in line with our expectations. We served more customers, and we opened Matas' new logistics center on time and budget. With two automated logistics centers now fully operational, our investments have returned to a normal long-term level and our free cash flow generation improved significantly in the quarter. Two years after the acquisition of KICKS, we now enter a new phase of our strategy to Win the Nordics, delivering value to our consumers, through more focus on operational excellence and continued assortment expansion for our customers and our +six million club members. We maintain our guidance for the financial year.” Gregers Wedell-Wedellsborg, Group CEO. The full quarterly report and press release can be accessed via the links in the comments section.
