Six elected officials participated in our annual March for Meals campaign which offers a hands-on experience on how the program works to serve over 200 homebound neighbors across the two counties each year. By way of “ride-alongs” with volunteers to the homes of Meals on Wheels TPSS clients who receive deliveries of hot and cold meals, coupled with kitchen visits where clients meals are prepared, we provide leaders an up-close and personal look at how we provide daily meals to residents who are homebound– regardless of income.

While the new presidential administration was decimating federal government agencies, policies and programs in its first 100 days, Maryland’s political leaders were busy visiting the homes of Meals on Wheels Takoma Park/Silver Spring (TPSS) clients and meeting staff to experience first-hand the impact of Montgomery County and Prince George’s County’s only nonprofit offering food security for homebound residents in our service area.
