We had a blast earlier this week volunteering and sponsoring a pop-up food packing event inside Dayton's Skyway. We partnered with the mpls downtown council | DID and with the generosity of so many volunteers packed 10,000 meals for those in need. We want to thank everyone who participated-- it goes a long way this holiday season!

This past week was our Q4 Townhall event across all of our hubs in Madison, Minnetonka, Omaha and St. Louis-- we love these quarterly events to get together, review our hard work over the year, learn where we can do better and have a few 😁 From our award winning 🏆 chili 🌶️cook-off contest, our 🐶🐈employee pet contest and our knitting and crocheting club display--it was a great time! We even celebrated a special 1st birthday for our 🐕🦺service dog, Digs, Medica is sponsoring Digs as part of the Custom Canine Service Dog Academy-- CCSDA's mission is to place highly trained service dogs with veterans and first responders.

Our strength lies in our people. The "I am Medica" series celebrates individuals who bring our mission to life — to serve our members and embody the values that define our culture. We are honored to share that we have signed an agreement to acquire certain contracts and assets of UCare. Both Medica and UCare have long histories in Minnesota as non-profit mission-driven health plans. Under this agreement, we have an opportunity to build upon our shared mission, deepen our community impact and support more members throughout Minnesota. Across our hubs employees volunteered their time at local food banks-- in MN we spent a few hours with our friends at Second Harvest Heartland packing thousands of meals for folks in need. A lot of 🥔, 🥣(oats) and other items will serve families who are looking for a hand-up during these challenging times. Medica is a proud partner of Second Harvest Heartland working to help reduce food insecurity in our communities.
