Hilton Los Angeles Airport announced a $50 million renovation to its guest rooms ahead of a global travel surge in Los Angeles for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place at SoFi Stadium in June—the hotel renovations are slated to be completed by then. Los Angeles also will host the 2028 Summer Olympics. In between those international events, the Super Bowl comes to SoFi Stadium in February 2027. With the average daily rate at luxury properties reaching an all-time high, planners of board meetings and executive retreats might want to look at upper-upscale properties, where rates are far lower. At luxury properties such as Conrad, Fairmont, Four Seasons, Intercontinental, JW Marriott, Park Hyatt, Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis and Waldorf Astoria, bookings through September were 2.5% higher than last year, according to industry research firm CoStar. This bump in demand has happened even though the average daily rate across the luxury segment has risen 2.4% this year to $394, its highest ever.
