Last month, our Company’s Employee Social Group (ESG) kicked off its first event! Employees from downtown Omaha office gathered at a nearby sports bar and grill for an evening of connection and fun. More than 85 team members stopped by to enjoy appetizers, conversation, and an interactive icebreaker BINGO game. The challenge? Find co-workers who matched 25 unique attributes – like “left-handed” or “Iowa State fan” – and collect their signatures. This event was a fantastic opportunity for employees to network, build relationships, and make new friends across the Company. Members of our Veterans and Military Supporters (VMS) Employee Resource Group gathered with National Indemnity teammates during a cake-cutting event the VMS hosted in honor of Veterans Day. This was the initial VMS function and will usher in a group of employees who value service to others. In 1967, National Indemnity became Berkshire Hathaway Inc.’s first acquisition outside of the textile industry. Today, it stands as the oldest operating subsidiary and a proud member of the Berkshire Hathaway group of insurance companies. During an event held last month, our teams enjoyed hearing from Berkshire Hathaway Inc.'s next CEO, Greg Abel. Witching everyone a fa-BOO-lous Halloween! 🎃👻🍬

We're proud to provide team members with opportunities to give back to the community. Last week, National Indemnity enjoyed participating in a "Good on the Go" volunteer activity with United Way of the Midlands. Co-workers packed 600 hygiene kits containing a variety of toiletries and other everyday essentials. The "Good on the Go" kits will be distributed to the Siena Francis House in Omaha, which serves individuals experiencing homelessness.   Inside each kit is a colorful card with a personal note from our team members. What a fantastic summit! 🙌 National Indemnity managers had a great time with colleagues at our annual INSPIRE Leadership Summit.
