There’s more to better care than just medicine. For 39 days, Steven has been receiving care for lymphoma on floor 16E at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. When the nurse manager on the floor found out that Steven could play guitar, she brought one in for him. Steven’s joy quickly spread. Steven serenaded the patients and staff on the floor. We’re grateful for our patients and staff. We’re grateful for moments like these. We’re grateful for followers like you. We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

We take medicine really seriously. That’s why it’s so important to step away sometimes and have some laughs. When the staff on Northwestern Medicine Prentice Women’s Hospital Floor 6 let me know they were planning an event with a self-proclaimed terrible portraitist, I was happy to stop by and model for him. He did not disappoint. In this season of gratitude, I’m thankful for colleagues with a sense of humor! #NMBetter
