Lina's story is a beautiful reminder that healing and second chances go hand in hand. 💙🐾 We're so thankful to have her as part of our pet therapy program and can't wait to see the difference she will make for our patients and staff! #NationalDogDay
In honor of National Dog Day, we'd like you to meet Lina, one of the newest pet therapy dogs at Northwest Healthcare Tucson. Lina's early years were uncertain—she had seven puppies, bounced around three foster homes and struggled with anxiety that made it hard for her to trust people. When she was young, she needed love and help from people. Now, she's happy she can give love and help to people. Just like Lina, many pet therapy dogs across CHS hospitals bring comfort, calm and connection to patients when they need it most. And it's safe to say our teams love these four-legged visitors just as much as our patients do. Because sometimes, the best kind of healing comes from man's best friend.

Happy National Dog Day! ❤ 🐕 We're lucky to have amazing pet therapy dogs like Scout, Max, and Lina who bring joy, comfort, and stress relief to our hospital family. Studies show that pet therapy can reduce stress, anxiety, and pain in patients, while also promoting social interaction and emotional well-being. We're grateful for the love and companionship of all our furry friends - past and present - who've been part of our pet therapy team, spreading joy and comfort wherever they go. 🐾❤ #NationalDogDay #TherapyDogs #NorthwestHealthcare #NWHC #HealthcareHeroes

What an amazing turnout for the ACP Tucson Day of Service! 🎉 Our internal medicine residents, medical students, and faculty came together at the Habitat for Humanity Tucson HabiStore —organizing, building, and giving back to an incredible cause. 💙🔨🧱🏡 A huge thank you to everyone who participated and made this day possible, including ACP Arizona Chapter Governor Dr. Alla Markus and our residency program director Dr. Kevin Fleming. We’re proud to see our residents making a difference in the community beyond our hospital walls! #NorthwestHealthcare #NWHC #HealthcareHeroes

🚨 According to the Arizona Department of Health Services, emergency medical services (EMS) respond to over 1 million calls annually in Arizona. 🚒🚑 We're proud to partner with Santa Rita Fire District at Camp Nitro, empowering teens with life-saving skills like CPR certification and basic first aid. With these skills, they're better equipped to provide critical support in case of emergency situations and help build a safer community. Thank you to all who participated! #NorthwestHealthcare #NWHC #HealthcareHeroes

🚨 Know Your Risk 🚨 Did you know nearly 2/3 of men aged 55-69 haven't been screened for prostate cancer? According to Dr. Jules Manger, M.D., men at average risk should talk to their doctors about screening around age 50, while men with a family history or those who are at higher risk due to genetic factors (such as men of African descent) should start the conversation as early as 45. Early detection can save lives. Read the full article ➡️🔗Link in comments #ProstateCancerAwareness #MensHealth #NorthwestHealthcare #NWHC
