Please welcome Calvin Huynh to Northwood as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, who comes to us from SpaceX. At Northwood, we are working to build the gap between space and life on Earth. We’re excited to have Calvin on our team helping to bring us closer to that reality. What excites you about the present and future impact of space technology and its reach into our daily lives?  “The mix of innovation, problem-solving, and exploration is what first pulled me into working on space technology. After working on rockets, I’ve realized that communication tech is just as tough and just as important. People usually focus on the projects that go to space, but a lot of the real progress comes from connecting what’s in space back to people on the ground. Better capabilities mean better discoveries we can make.” Why did you join Northwood? “For me it was simple: a great opportunity, an important mission, and the right people.” Likes: airplanes / sunshine / fish / green Dislikes: cold food that’s supposed to be hot / torn ligaments / pollen / flying insects except bees and butterflies Please give Calvin a warm welcome to the Northwood team! • Please welcome Scott Snow to Northwood as a DSP Engineer, who comes to us from AnySignal and SpaceX. At Northwood, we are working to build the gap between space and life on Earth. We’re excited to have Scott on our team helping to bring us closer to that reality.  What excites you about the present and future impact of space technology and its reach into our daily lives? "I’ve always felt that space is the most unifying source of inspiration we have on Earth. Our differences across the globe are both challenging and enriching, but from a cosmic perspective, it’s clear we’re one human race sharing this home among the stars. That’s my philosophical motivation –to increase the impact of space. Scientifically, I’m excited about making space more accessible for observation missions like the James Webb telescope. I hope that increased observation of the immense energy and variety in the zoo of cosmological phenomena will help provide the limitless laboratory physicists need to keep pushing the boundaries of our physical theories. Let’s get some more black hole photos!" Why did you join Northwood? "People and mission. Everyone I have met at Northwood has been positive, collaborative, and driven. The company is animated by the shared belief that creating the world’s ground segment of the future is necessary, timely, and an excellent adventure. I want to contribute to that."   Likes: trail running / seasonal fruit / Ted Chiang / dancing at weddings   Dislikes: tight climbing shoes / raisins ruining things / pokemon after gen 3 / coral bleaching  Please give Scott a warm welcome to the Northwood team!
