🍟📉 GLP-1 Users: Are They Eating Out Less Often? 📉🍟 Numerator’s report, Rethinking Consumer Appetite for Restaurants: How GLP-1 Medications Impact Guest Behavior, leverages verified purchase data, a Verified Voices survey of over 750 GLP-1 users who purchased fast food between February and May 2025, and demographics and psychographics data to provide insights on how GLP-1 usage affects a user’s attitudes toward dining out. 👴🏽 GLP-1 users who visit quick-service restaurants (QSRs) are more likely to be older, Black consumers who dine out frequently. 76% of GLP-1-using restaurant guests are over 45 years old (23% more likely than the average QSR guest), 18% are Black (29% more likely), and 17% dine out at least four times per week (80% more likely). 📈 GLP-1-using restaurant guests say they are eating out less and cooking at home more, but verified purchase data says otherwise. In looking at the 52 weeks vs YA (ending 5/31/2025), these GLP-1 users increased their QSR buy rate by 2%, their purchase frequency by 0.9%, and their spend per trip by 1%. 🥐 Compared to non-GLP-1 users, more of GLP-1 users’ share of QSR spend went towards breakfast bakery (+12%) and breakfast sandwiches (+10%), while less of their spend went toward pizza (-16%) and Mexican bowls (-20%). 📉 36% of GLP-1 restaurant guests say they are dining out somewhat or much less frequently in the past several months, which is at odds with their increased LSR buy rate.
