About us
Northwest Human Services has been providing residents of Marion and Polk counties with comprehensive medical, dental, psychiatry, mental health, and social services for over 45 years. Our programs are integrated and designed to maximize support for those in our community who need it most - underserved, homeless, low income families, uninsured individuals, and migrant workers. We offer medical, dental and mental health services on a sliding fee scale based on family size and income. No one is turned away due to their inability to pay. Homeless youth and adults at our HOST and HOAP Programs access basic needs services, case management, peer support, and health care at our Community Health Centers. Our Crisis & Information Hotline provides 24 hour crisis support and suicide intervention as well as limited emergency financial assistance for rent, utilities, and prescription medications. Our Vision: As long as there is a need, Northwest Human Services will continue to be a safety net providing health care and social services in our community. At Northwest Human Services, we value customer service, teamwork, wellness and fun. Employees are treated to annual holiday celebrations, summertime picnics and many other events recognizing their handwork and dedication to our mission. Our leadership team and Board of Directors support our staff as we continue to grow and expand our programs and community offerings.

Today, we are grateful for the people who make Northwest Human Services more than a healthcare provider. We are grateful for the compassion, resilience, and commitment that define our community. To our staff: thank you for the care you provide every day — whether you are on the front lines in our clinics, supporting patients in crisis, providing resources through HOST and HOAP, or ensuring our systems run smoothly behind the scenes. Your dedication makes healthcare accessible, dignified, and human. To our patients and clients: thank you for trusting us with your care. It is an honor to walk alongside you through moments of uncertainty, healing, and hope. To our partners, volunteers, and supporters: thank you for working with us to build a stronger, healthier community. Your collaboration helps us reach more people and expand what is possible. Today and every day, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve. Together, we are creating a community where care and connection are within reach.

Northwest Human Services is partnering with the American Red Cross to host a community blood drive at West Salem Clinic. Family, friends, and community members are all welcome to participate. In July, we collected a record number of units — help us exceed that milestone again this year. We’re inspired by our community. As part of the Community Care Drive, donations continue to pour into our clinics — warm clothing, socks, and nonperishable food items to support neighbors experiencing need this time of year. ▪ Food donations will support Mosaic Church’s food pantry ▪ Clothing and essentials will support clients served through our HOAP and HOST programs Thank you to everyone who has donated so far — your generosity reflects the heart of this community and the mission of Northwest Human Services. Drop-off bins will remain open through Nov. 21 at West Salem Clinic in Salem and Total Health Community Clinic in Monmouth.

Today is World Kindness Day — and kindness starts right here at home. At Northwest Human Services, we believe compassion is more than a value — it’s action. Today, on Veterans Day, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of all who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, including the veterans who are part of our Northwest Human Services team. Their dedication to protecting our country continues in the work they do every day to support our patients and community. Whether serving on the front lines or here at home, their commitment to helping others reflects the very best of who we are. To all veterans — thank you for your service, your strength, and your example.

Today kicks of Youth HOPE Month! Youth HOPE — which stands for Homeless Outreach Prevention and Education — is a national campaign led by the National Runaway Safeline to raise awareness and inspire action for young people experiencing homelessness or housing instability. At Northwest Human Services, our HOST (Health, Outreach, Shelter, and Transitions) program embodies that mission every day — providing counseling, case management, housing support, and connection to education and employment for youth ages 18–24. This month, we honor the strength and resilience of youth in our community — and the dedicated HOST team working to ensure that every young person has a safe place to turn and a hopeful path forward.
