On this day in 1882, Winnie the Pooh author A.A. Milne was born. Today, we celebrate his legacy by visiting the real-life teddy bear that inspired the beloved children's classic. The original Pooh and friends now call the Library home. You can visit them for free in the "Polonsky Exhibition of The New York Public Library’s Treasures."
