This fall, OVG brought 10 students from 10 HBCUs to Las Vegas for the ASCEND HBCU Classic at Allegiant Stadium. The program offered an immersive career experience for future leaders in sports, entertainment and hospitality. Over three days, students heard from Las Vegas Raiders leadership including Sandra Douglass Morgan, worked through a live case study with Raiders professionals, took part in team-building and the HBCU Classic pep rally, toured Allegiant Stadium with Silver and Black Hospitality and enjoyed the Classic from a suite. A few weeks later, the cohort presented their insights to more than 40 OVG leaders, Raiders executives and university partners, showcasing the power of exposure, mentorship and hands-on learning. The Plaza Theatre in Palm Springs celebrated its grand reopening last night with a glamorous gala featuring a special performance by Cynthia Erivo. After a two year community powered restoration, the historic venue has been brought back to life with stunning upgrades that preserve its original charm. TD Coliseum in Hamilton made its debut in a major way with a landmark first concert from music icon Sir Paul McCartney. The sold-out show showcased the power of OVG’s nearly $300 million transformation of the former Copps Coliseum and FirstOntario Centre into Canada’s new flagship arena. From a marathon 36-song set to fans traveling from across the region, the venue’s first night set the stage for a new era of live entertainment in Hamilton. The grand opening celebration also featured city and provincial leaders, TD Bank, Live Nation Canada, and the OVG team who brought this ambitious project to life.
