We Do The Recon, So You Don't Have To. Connecting, Celebrating & Supporting Rural Veterans Every Day.

About us

Our mission is to connect veteran's, their families, caregivers and survivors to local and regional resources via an online database. Our goal is to let you know what help is available just outside your front door without the hassle of calling a national hotline. We understand the struggle of finding local help when you need because we've been there. When our database is complete, you will be able to easily search for local and regional help near you in several categories including- mental health, primary care, physical therapy, holistic therapy, financial aid and literacy, housing assistance, job assistance and fitness.

Updates

  • For too long, rural military and veteran families just outside Fort Bragg have been overlooked when it comes to resources and community support. That changes on September 6th. Operation Honor: Rural Salute™, together with Grand Canyon University, is bringing the first-ever Back to School Bash & resource event directly to Eastover/Stedman. No long drives. No being left out. We’re meeting families where they are — in their own community. Salem Methodist Church, Eastover NC 10 AM – 3 PM What makes this day special? Free food, fun, and school-year celebration 🎒 Kid-friendly activities, bounce house & games 🎉 Local resources and vendors finally brought into this rural area 🤝 A chance to connect, belong, and build community 💙 This isn’t just an event. It’s a statement: our rural military families deserve to be seen, celebrated, and supported. We’re calling on community partners, local businesses, and organizations: join us, sponsor, or bring your resources to the table. We still have some space! Let’s make sure these families know they’re not forgotten.

  • We’re back in PA this year for another first of its kind and ONLY festival in America that aims to honor and connect rural veterans with support and community. So many ways to be a part of this great event. Please share with your networks to ensure it is well attended and show America how we really take care of our rural veterans!

  • Rural veterans fought for this country—so why are they the ones being forgotten? 🚨 4.4 million veterans live in rural America. ❌ No nearby VA. ❌ No easy access to resources. ❌ No community support. Most veteran programs don’t even reach them. And that’s the problem. But here’s the truth—rural veterans aren’t just stuck. They have the skills, resilience, and grit to build incredible lives in rural America. They just need the right connections, resources, and support. That’s where we come in. 💪🇺🇸 At Operation Honor: Rural Salute™️, we’re here to make sure rural veterans get what they need to thrive—because they’ve earned it.

  • It was an honor to have our Executive Director, Michelle Lang, be asked to speak at JLG Industries Veterans Day breakfast. It’s fantastic to see a company supporting their veterans and encouraging them to become a community and lean on one another. Operation Honor: Rural Salute™️ is proud to announce the upcoming launch of the first rural veteran community so that all rural veterans can have the opportunity to lean on each other and support one another in a way only they can. • TEAMWORK 🤝 We want to give a big shout out THANK YOU to Maxwell Container Sales for donating four shipping containers to Western North Carolina for rebuild efforts! They could not have been moved out there without God's Pit Crew ! This work is truly a team effort and it’s a privilege to work with so many Americans putting others first. If not for Fill the Needs doing the heavy lifting of finding and filling all the gaps, we would have never thought to seek this need out to fill. This may not look like much but they are crucial in helping the rebuild efforts in rural Western North Carolina. Operation Honor: Rural Salute has been able to help facilitate the procurement and movement of 10 containers so far by working in tandem with companies, drivers and local officials. The news cycle may forget Western North Carolina but we certainly will not.
