Last month we joined the Hawaii Department of Health Children with Special Health Needs Branch's (CSHNB) 5-Year Strategic Plan Meeting at Koolau Ballrooms. This event focused on promoting family-centered, community-based care for children and youth with special healthcare needs (ages 0-21). It was a great opportunity to connect, collaborate, and reconnect with partners like Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies (HMHB) and Association for Infant Mental Health in Hawaii (AIMMHHI).

Last week, ‘Ohana Health Plan, the Centene Foundation and Hawai'i Island Community Health Center (HICHC) unveiled a brand-new mobile health clinic—a major step forward in expanding access to care for students across Hawai‘i Island. Through a $550,000 grant, the Gateway to Health initiative will deliver essential services like well-child exams, immunizations, behavioral health support, and chronic care management—right to school campuses. The mobile clinic officially hits the road this month, starting with the Honokaʻa-Kealakehe-Kohala-Konawaena complex area and expanding to more communities throughout the school year. Our Provider Relations team was excited to spend Memorial Day Weekend with the Philippine Medical Association of Hawaii. The theme for this year’s spring conference was “Lifelong Wellness: Bridging Generations Through Culture, Care and Community” and provided continuing medical education credits, along with an invaluable platform for healthcare professionals and physicians to learn about the latest industry trends, share best practices and provided networking opportunities for all attendees.

‘Ohana Health Plan was pleased to sponsor another Mana ‘Ohana Baby Shower in partnership with Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies. Our pregnant and postpartum Oahu members were treated to a day of celebration featuring light refreshments and fun baby shower games. They also learned about the different resources available to them and had the opportunity to connect with community organizations, to check out the Mana ‘Ohana Mobile Clinic and took home lots of wonderful goodies for their babies. Congratulations mamas, and mahalo for letting us take care of you during this special time!
