This December, OneBlood honors the memory of Isabella, who passed away from cancer at just seven years old. "I have been donating to whatever city blood drive or bank since before I was 16. Used to be every 8 weeks but now it’s ok every 6. Anyway when I was 9, my niece that at the time was a year older than me and lost her dad (my half brother), her hand, and a little bit of her arm, and I held her in my arms all night. It made me think about life and how fast it runs away. A drunk driver no less took her arm and my bro. God is good and that is all the time. I have seen lots of good people die and too many younger than me at the time, but if my blood saves one person’s loved one, then it makes all the trips to the blood donation places and buses worth it. Maybe I have to live for now so your loved one will live, so can you give me a hand and drop by the bus or the center at least once a year?
